New Glasses and My Friday Night Plans/January 24, 2007

First off, how is everyone? I've been meaning to update, honestly, but I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Right now, as I type this, Erik and I are sitting on my front porch, each with our laptops on our laps, sitting in plastic, green lawn chairs, surfing the web because we have no lives! It's actually quite funny really. We've never done this before and I think it might become a habit. I wouldn't mind it so much would it not be for the Cadillac-sized mosquitos buzzing around everywhere.

Anyway, I finally got around to going to the eye doctor today. I've been needing new glasses for the past three years. Now you know I am that lazy! My crappy insurance vision plan only covered $5 of the eye exam (no joke). I had to pay $50. I did, however, get a great deal on the glasses. I got two pairs of glasses, lenses and all, for $149- plain black frames and ruby red frames. They'll be ready for pick-up tomorrow at 4 p.m. I'll post pictures up of my new sets of eyes tomorrow. ^___^

I'm excited about Friday. I am going to see John Mayer in concert. I bought the tickets back in November as a birthday gift for my cousin and I (her b-day is November 29 and mine is November 30). We're going together and are planning to stay after the show and hang by the tour bus in hopes of getting a picture with John Mayer himself or Josh Rouse, his opening act. Then next Wednesday, Erik and I are going to see Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert again (we saw them last October in Georgia). Although, this time around, their opening act will be Gnarls Barkley instead of The Mars Volta (whom we LOVE!!!) like last time. I'm not too fond of Gnarls Barkley. He has a great voice, but his music is the kind you have to be in the mood for, otherwise you won't enjoy it... at least in my opinion.

A few of you have commented that you'd like to see my sketches and other bits of art that I work on. This weekend (hopefully), I will be uploading some drawings onto my Deviant Art account. The link is here on my blog under the "ME" button on the right hand side. I have to say that I am beyond flattered that anyone would be interested in my work. Thank you all for brightening up my days with your comments and advice. It really means a lot. As a big art fan, I'd love to see everyone else's artwork. Any kind.
